Sri Lanka Endemic Birding Tour

Strategically located as the southernmost point between Africa and the Malayan archipelago, Sri Lanka is a birding haven. Its unique geographical position links it to Madagascar and the Himalayas, remnants of the ancient Gondwanaland before the continents drifted apart.
Despite being a small island, Sri Lanka boasts a remarkable diversity of habitats that support an impressive array of species. Over 435 bird species have been recorded, including 34 endemics and more than 195 migratory species.
The compact nature of the country allows avid birdwatchers to explore over 200 bird species, including all the endemics, within a relatively short time, making Sri Lanka an ideal destination for both beginner and hardcore birders.

This tour offers a captivating blend of Sri Lanka’s natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. The first half of the journey takes you through the island’s north-central region, offering glimpses of ancient civilizations, showcasing their technological mastery and intricate arts and crafts.
As you head into the cool climes of the central highlands, you’ll travel through lush tea gardens that produce the world-renowned Ceylon Tea.
The second half of the tour focuses more on the country's wildlife and scenic landscapes, taking you through the stunning southern region of Sri Lanka.
Throughout the tour, you’ll explore seven UNESCO World Heritage Sites and visit two of Sri Lanka’s world-famous nature parks, offering you a well-rounded experience of the island’s diverse attractions.

Sri Lanka is a birdwatcher’s paradise, where diverse habitats support over 237 resident species, including 27 endemics, and an additional 216 migratory species.
Despite its small size, Sri Lanka offers easy access to key birding locations, allowing birders to explore its rich avian diversity within a relatively short time.
